ALIMENTACIÓN Y PAZ
Esta mañana, tarde o noche en la mesa, con tu familia, amistades, o en tu propia compañía, tienes un plato con comida. Puedes sentir aromas, degustar sabores, sentir satisfacción de haber comido. Alrededor de este ritual los humanos hemos compartido, construido, planeado, creado, discutido los más diversos asuntos de la vida.
¿Qué tal sí hoy antes de iniciar el desayuno, el almuerzo o la cena pudiéramos hacer una pausa, respirar profundo y tomar conciencia de todo lo que significa alimentarnos?
¿Cuánto sol, ha descendido para activar el proceso de trasformación de luz en sustancia?
¿Cuántos minerales diluidos en la tierra han ascendido para ser flor, fruto, semilla?
¿Cuántos millones de años de misteriosa evolución han transcurrido para que el reino vegetal sirva de soporte, de nutrición, para que nos permita incluir la esencia de la tierra para convertirla en nuestro cuerpo?
Estamos hechos de la tierra, estamos constituidos de todos sus elementos, la madre tierra nos pare y nos soporta.
Piensa en cuántas manos, voluntades, labor, ingenio humano han sido necesarios para que dispongamos de estos alimentos en nuestra mesa.
¿Podrías ser consciente de esto?
Imagina siete mil quinientos millones de personas, más cientos de miles de millones de seres animales en nuestra tierra cada día buscando su alimento. Considera que del total de humanos unos 800 millones padecen hambre en el mundo.
No basta con agradecer y orar antes de comer, es necesario ser conscientes de la inequidad e indiferencia en la que vivimos; de lo sencillo que podría ser si la conciencia humana despierta y posibilita como política de todos los estados los simples recursos necesarios para que toda la humanidad pueda cultivar y disponer de los alimentos necesarios. Recursos que incluyen el derecho a semillas de calidad, a herramientas adecuadas, acceso a la educación, a la tierra, al agua.
Si pensamos en ello nos puede resultar claro que el asunto de la alimentación se relaciona directamente con la sustentabilidad de toda vida y del planeta en sí; que se relaciona con la guerra y con la paz; que es nuestra responsabilidad asumir una alimentación que no deprede el planeta, que no deprede nuestra salud. Sin desconocer la importancia sobre los diversos modelos de nutrición, es importante asumir hábitos coherentes y responsables frente a la producción, disponibilidad, consumo de alimentos, así como a disposición de residuos.
En los días que siguen invitaremos a reflexionar sobre esto y sobre sugerencias para una alimentación más simple, nutritiva y saludable que aporte a nuestra paz metabólica y a la paz con todos los seres.
